 | What are you doing on Friday night? Join us for the free, public Opening Reception of our newest gallery exhibition, Cross Bronx/Living Legend, from 5 - 8PM! Cross Bronx/Living Legend is a six-week exhibition that reexamines the notorious Cross Bronx Expressway from the perspective of the people who have been liing alongside it for the past 75 years, contending daily with its noise, pollution, and disastrous impacts on working class Bronx communities.
The exhibition features new photography of the Cross Bronx by Bronx-based artist Abigail Montes, audio collages of Bronx residents discussing the past, present, and futures of their communities — collected by Bronx public high school students — and rarely seen archival materials. Cross Bronx/Living Legend will also feature neighborhood walking tours, discussion panels, and other interactive, community workshops over the course of it's six-week run.
