This week, we continued our efforts with our winter coat drive and welcomed new small businesses into the community. Additionally, commenced 2025 with the first committee hearing of the year. We anticipate another productive, exciting, and busy year dedicated to serving District 13.

Distributing our Winter Coat Drive Donations!
Thanks to the generous donations from our community members, Team Marmorato successfully delivered coats to the Urban Institute of Mathematics!
We are grateful for our community's support in coming together for a worthy cause, helping our neighbors stay warm during this chilly winter season. Our Winter Coat Drive will run until January 31st, and we welcome you to contribute your new or gently used coats to our District Office! Together, we can make a meaningful impact!
Touring District 13 Schools: Pelham Academy of Academics and Community Engagement
Councilwoman Marmorato continued her tour of schools within the district by visiting Pelham Academy of Academics and Community Engagement. We are grateful for our District 13 schools that are committed to preparing and educating our youth.

Walkthrough #2 of Waters Place w/ DOT & PS721x
Last week, Councilwoman Marmorato led a follow-up walkthrough of Waters Place alongside staff from NYC DOT and PS721x. We focused on addressing community feedback regarding safety concerns in the area.

Cookies w/ Cops at McDonalds Grand Reopening Event
Over the weekend, Councilwoman Marmorato participated in the Cookies with Cops event at the McDonald's located at 1515 Williamsbridge Road, celebrating their grand reopening. This month, they have an exciting lineup of events planned for the community to mark this occasion!
A big thank you to Luciana from Toli Management and the 49th precinct for helping to create such a delightful and enjoyable Saturday event!
Wingstop Grand Opening
On Monday, Councilwoman Marmorato had the privilege of attending the grand opening and participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Wingstop in District 13!

Walkthrough of Little Yemen Businesses
On Tuesday, Councilwoman Marmorato visited various businesses alongside the Bronx Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance of Yemeni American Businesses.
It's always a pleasure to stop by local establishments, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
We are eager to keep collaborating with the goal of enhancing and supporting our small businesses, ensuring they thrive in our District. Together, we all support one another.
Touring District 13 Schools: PS 121
Councilwoman Marmorato visited another school in the District, making a stop at P.S.121. Engaging with schools in our community is vital for understanding the priorities and needs of our local educators. We are eager to continue fostering these collaborations and partnerships for the benefit of our students!

Budget Season is Here !

Join us for an essential Budget Workshop and Info Session on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
This is an opportunity for local organizations to learn about the FY26 Discretionary and Capital Funding available through the New York City Council. Each City Council member can fund services, programs, and infrastructure projects for their district.
The two forms of funding are expense funding and capital funding. Expense funding is discretionary funding that supports programs and services. Capital funding is discretionary funding that supports physical infrastructure projects.

This week, we are thrilled to highlight this successfully resolved case! Our office was informed about an abandoned white van on Hone Ave. We collaborated with the 49th precinct to ensure the van was removed from the street.
We are grateful for the support from the 49th precinct in this matter and truly appreciate our attentive citizens who bring such issues to our notice. |
Another highlight in our Constituent Casework this week is our initiative to remove the traffic message board located at Vincent Ave and Layton Ave.
We appreciate our constituents for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. We remain committed to addressing quality of life issues within the community.
